The Portuguese government, which took office in March 2022, counted with 15 resignations by November 2023, 12 of secretaries of State and three of ministers. The ministry of health recorded three resignations, including of one minister. The ministry of infrastructure and housing registered two resignations, after which two seperate ministries were formed. The minister of the new ministry of infrastructure resigned as well.
The Portuguese Prime Minister, António Costa, presented his resignation to the President of the Republic in November 2023. Due to this, the government will remain in office until the snap election of March 2024 gives rise to a new executive. However, the present government sees its power currently limited to acts that are strictly necessary to the management of public affairs.
