All Indonesian sectors have observed overall increases in methane emissions since 1990, with the exception of the buildings sector. Indonesia's power industry experienced the largest percentage increase in methane emissions between 1990 and 2022, at almost 3,000 percent. However, the power industry is a minor contributor to the country's methane emissions when compared to the agriculture, fuel exploitation, and waste sectors.
