As of 2021, more than 80 percent of adults aged 53 years and older in Mexico got vaccinated against COVID-19 as a preventive care choice. Testing for hypertension or high blood pressure was a preventive health measure taken by almost 70 percent of women and 55 percent of men. Preventive care refers to routine healthcare that includes screening tests, check-ups, and consultation with medical professionals with the purpose of preventing disease or other health problems. As of 2022, around 63 percent of people with a higher trust in the health ecosystem engaged in preventive care in Mexico.
