FNB Stadium, also known as Soccer City, in Johannesburg (South Africa) was the largest on the continent. As of 2023, the stadium had the capacity to hold over 94,700 fans. Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria (Egypt) and Stade des Martyrs de la Pentecote (Democratic Republic of Congo) followed, with the ability to host 90,000 and 80,000 spectators, respectively. Furthermore, South Africa and Egypt were the countries with four of the largest 10 stadiums in Africa.
