Canada's power industry-related methane emissions were 138 percent higher in 2022 when compared to 1990 levels, and 29 percent higher when compared to 2005 levels. In contrast, Canada's transportation-related emissions were 48 percent lower in 1990 when compared to 2022 levels. Meanwhile, waste-related methane emissions in Canada have seen little change over the past three decades.
