Leading up to September 2022 in the fiscal year 2023, over a thousand films were required to adopt modifications or cuts advised by the Central Board. This accounted for over 11 percent of roughly nine thousand films certified between April and September 2022. This was relatively less than the share of films modified in the fiscal year 2021 that amounted to nearly 18 percent, the highest in a four-year span between financial year 2020 and 2023.
