Most sectors in China have observed overall increases in methane emissions since 1990. China's power industry-related methane emissions were 1,765 percent higher in 2022 when compared to 1990 levels, and 399 percent higher when compared to 2005 levels. While agricultural methane emissions have fallen eight percent when compared to 1990 levels, they have seen little change since 2005.
