According to a survey conducted in March 2023 in France 10 percent of the total population identified as part of the LGBTQI+ community. However, some important differences are to be noted when comparing different generations. For instance, only four percent of Boomers we identified as being LGBTQI+, while 22 percent of the population's youngest group, Gen Z, claimed to be part of the community.

The source adds the following information regarding methodology: "The sample consists of approximately 1,000 individuals in France Gen Z= born in 1997 and after Millennials= born between 1981 and 1996 Gen X= born between 1965 and 1980 Boomers= born between 1948 and 1964"
