Spain: views on paid sex acceptability by religion 2023

In 2023, the agnostic group were the least likely to say that paying a woman for sex was acceptable, at about 25 percent. On the other hand, the Spanish residents that believe in a minority religion were the demographic most likely to say this behavior is unacceptable and should be criminalized, at approximately 38 percent.

Respondents were asked about the acceptability and criminality of the behavior of "paying a woman to have sexual relations".

This study has in consideration the three types of atheism: the agnostic atheism, which does not deny the existence of God, but neither rules it out; the nonreligious atheism, which does not believe in formal religions, but thinks there is a spiritual reality, and the nonbeliever atheism, which denies and rejects the existence of God.
