According to a 2023 study, domestic travel spending in France was expected to increase significantly in 2022 compared to the first two years of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. After dropping to 1.4 billion euros with the onset of the health crisis, the expenditure by domestic travelers in the French capital rose to nearly three billion euros in 2021. As forecast, this figure was expected to reach an estimated 4.1 billion euros in 2022, also surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
