As of 2020, next-generation access (NGA) coverage in Portugal was of almost 87 percent for all households. By 2023, it increased to 94 percent. Contrarily, rural households diminished in their coverage share, as this went from 70 percent in 2020 to 68.8 percent in 2022, but showed signs of recovering in 2023.
