Approximately 13 thousand companies were working in the food production industry in 2022 in Romania, with a total revenue of 73.8 billion Romanian lei. Large enterprises accounted for over half of the total industry revenue while accounting for only 1.8 percent of all companies. Large enterprises had the most significant share of companies in the production of oils and vegetable/animal fats sector - 14 percent.
