According to a survey conducted in July 2023, more than 60 percent of Indian Netflix subscribers were willing to pay an extra fee that was less than an actual subscription to be able to share their Netflix passwords with friends and family. This was higher than the share of urban Indians who were inclined to do the same. Netflix has halted password sharing in India as of July 2023.
