In 2023, personal care was the leading category to register complaints against influencers who violated ASCI guidelines in India, that amounted to over 35 percent. Food, beverages, fashion, and lifestyle followed with the second highest share of influencer violations. Over 2,000 complaints were filed against influencers that year which contributed to 26 percent of the overall advertising complaints lodged in 2023.
