In the fiscal year 2024, nearly 78 percent of advertising complaints in India were reported suo moto, that is, by the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) itself. The public was the next major source of complaints lodged that year having increased over the previous year. As many as 10,000 complaints were registered that year, with over 8,000 ads having been processed.
