A 2023 survey by Rakuten Insight on user-generated content (UGC) reported that the leading reason for consumers to not engage with UGC in India was a lack of trust. Meanwhile, more than 30 percent of respondents stated irrelevant content and a preference for brand advertisements as their primary reason, respectively.
