Most known malaria symptoms in Nigeria 2023

According to a study conducted in Nigeria in 2023, 45 percent of respondents reported fever with shivering as the most known malaria symptom. Body pain and headache followed, with 37 percent and 35 percent, respectively. Only two percent stated vomiting as a known malaria symptom.

Malaria is a dangerous disease transmitted to humans by certain mosquitoes that bear the malaria parasite. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
