Perceived importance of tourism worldwide 2023, by country
A September 2023 survey analyzed the perceived importance of tourism across 12 markets worldwide. Overall, the country that saw traveling as the most important to the local economy was Brazil, with 98 percent of respondents believing that tourism was very or somehow important. In contrast, Norway reported the lowest figure, with 62 percent of the sample perceiving tourism as a relevant aspect to the country's economy.
