In 2023, the global floating offshore wind projects capacity surpassed 100 gigawatts. From those, operating projects accounted to only 231 megawatts, with the majority of projects located in Europe. Meanwhile, projects under construction stood at 233 megawatts, whereas projects in the permitting stage reached 9.5 gigawatts.
