Portugal has seen an influx of immigration during recent years. In 2022, there was an increase in the number of registered foreign residents by almost 12 percent. The country is experiencing continuous growth with a bit of a halt during the years of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, but even then the foreign population increased by 5.6 percent from 2020 to 2021.
