Electric vehicle sales distribution by manufacturer and powertrain in Europe 2023

In Europe, all of Tesla's, Nissan's, and Subaru's electric vehicle sales were battery electric vehicles (BEV) in 2023. Furthermore, BEV sales constituted nearly 95 percent of Renault's electric vehicle sales. On the other hand, Mitsubishi only sold plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV) in the electric car category. 
The usage of electric cars is getting more popular worldwide. In 2022, there were about 25.9 million electric vehicles in operation worldwide. Also, China has the largest market for plug-in electric vehicle sales worldwide in 2022.
