Ownership of insecticide-treated nets in Nigeria 2021-2023

According to a study conducted in Nigeria in April 2023, 70 percent of respondents reported having an ITN (insecticide-treated net), indicating a one percentage point decrease from April 2021. An ITN helps decrease malaria illness, extreme sickness, and death in an endemic region.
Malaria is a dangerous disease transmitted to humans by mosquitoes that bear the malaria parasite. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
