In a study conducted in 2023, most respondents within all age groups in Nigeria reported that they were treated for malaria every two months. By comparison, 28 percent of respondents across all age groups each reported receiving treatment for malaria twice a year.
Malaria is a dangerous disease transmitted to humans by mosquitoes that bear the malaria parasite. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
