According to a survey of healthcare provider executives in the United States in 2023, a third of respondents stated a lack of technical expertise was a barrier to AI adoption in healthcare. Other barriers cited to prevent AI adoption were regulatory and legal considerations and a lack of clear benefits to the technology.
