In 2022, the primary health concern about in aging in Europe was cancer. Respondents were around three times more likely to be concerned about cancer compared to heart disease, despite CVD being the leading cause of death worldwide. Furthermore, around 30 percent of people in Europe were concerned about dementia as they get older.
