In 2021, the total cost of cardiovascular disease (CVD) related procedures in Europe was the highest in Italy at over 6.1 billion euros. In France, CVD-related costs also totaled over six billion euros.
CVD-related procedures included Percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG), Pacemaker implantations (PI), Implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD), Percutaneous aortic valve implantation (TAVI) among others.
