According to a survey conducted in South Korea in early 2023, around 58 percent of male and 56 percent of female respondents stated that they sometimes used metaverse platforms to socialize with friends, acquaintances or coworkers. Overall, about 68 percent of male and 67 percent of female users engaged in metaverse socializing, which was one of the most common activities undertaken on metaverse platforms.
