In a study conducted in 2023, 41 percent of respondents who have had malaria symptoms claimed that they went to a hospital when the symptoms started, while 22 percent reported that they went to a chemist shop. On the other hand, four percent of respondents reported that they did nothing.
Malaria is a dangerous disease caused by a parasite that usually infects a certain type of mosquito, which in turn affects humans. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
