In a study conducted in April 2023, 41 percent of respondents who have had malaria symptoms claimed that they went to a hospital when the symptoms started, compared to 57 percent of respondents in April 2021. On the other hand, four percent of respondents in April 2023 reported that they did nothing, compared to two percent in April 2021.
Malaria is a dangerous disease caused by a parasite that usually infects a certain type of mosquito, which in turn affects humans. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
