According to a study conducted in 2023, 92 percent of men in Nigeria viewed malaria as one of the most worrisome health challenges in Nigeria, while six percent said it was not. Among women respondents, 90 percent also were worried about malaria.
Malaria is a dangerous disease caused by a parasite that usually infects a certain type of mosquito, which in turn affects humans. In 2020, Nigeria registered some 21.6 million cases of malaria.
