The majority of the men respondents in Nigeria reported that they approved of the fuel subsidy removal decision taken by the Nigerian federal government. In a survey conducted in 2023, 62 percent confirmed their support, while 38 percent opposed this decision. On the other hand, only 48 percent of women respondents approved of the government's decision, while 52 percent reported that they were against it. According to the source, this decision was taken by the government to lighten its economic burdens, as the cost of maintaining the fuel subsidy has increased over the years.
