Key workers are, on average, more likely to work low hours compared to non-key workers. As country income increases, the percentage of key workers working 20 hours or less per week decreases, suggesting that key workers in lower-income countries are at risk of lower standards of living as they often are paid low salaries. Additionally, both key and non-key workers are less likely to work beyond 48 hours per week as country income increases, as they are more likely to make more per hour and have greater labor protections.
