The number of ships traveling via the Port Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea mainly increased until 2019. Afterward, this figure decreased to 8,493 in 2019 and 6,794 in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. In 2021, the number of vessels at the ports started increasing again and reached 7,448 in 2022.
