In 2021, of all Indian regions, the south consisted nearly 62 elderly Indians per 100 children. On the other hand, central Indian states, such as Uttar Pradesh, and Madhya Pradesh, recorded the lowest aging index that measured time period, with nearly 28 elderly people for every 100 individuals younger than 15 years old.
