According to a survey conducted in July 2023 among consumers in Australia regarding sustainable fashion and greenwashing, only around nine percent of respondents said they felt that fashion brands were transparent about how sustainable and ethical their products are. Over 50 percent of those surveyed indicated that fashion brands, from their perspective, lacked transparency or were not at all forthcoming regarding their business sustainability and ethical practices.
