According to a survey conducted in Japan in June 2023, more than a third of the respondents thought that promotional postings of influencers, entertainers, and aggregate accounts had a lower trustworthiness compared to normal postings by the same accounts. About a quarter of the respondents stated that their trust in a posting does not change if the PR posting is entertaining or beneficial to them.
