Most mentioned aspects of the housing program Mais Habitação in Portugal 2023
In December 2023, 40.4 percent of respondents in Portugal considered the simplification of licensing proposed by the government housing program Mais Habitação a positive measure. The exemption from capital gains on the sale of real estate to pay off a loan was perceived as a positive measure by 39 percent of respondents. Contrarily, the forced rental of vacant houses was voted as a negative procedure by around 46 percent of respondents, while the update of old rent for inflation was considered a negative measure for one in each four interviewees.
