Public support for subsidies to low-carbon technology and renewables as a climate change mitigation policy was mostly positive across countries around the world. Support rates of more than 50 percent were reported in most countries surveyed in 2022. As of that year, almost three-quarters of the respondents in the Philippines were in favor of such policies. In contrast, only 45 percent of Japanese respondents supported these subsidies.
