What is the Wagner Group?
The Wagner Group is a Russian private military organization that was led by Yevgeny Prigozhin until August 2023, when he was reportedly killed in a business jet crash. The paramilitary group was active in various conflicts, including those in Syria, Libya, and Ukraine. On June 23, 2023, Prigozhin declared the Wagner Group's rebellion against the Russian government. The mutiny ended the following day after the negotiations between Prigozhin and the Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
