In 2024, the London Underground network boasted a total of 272 tube stations. While station closures in the 2000s had led to a declining number of available stations, the number of stations began to increase again in 2009. The most recent additions to the network were Battersea Power Station and Nine Elms on the Northern Line, which both opened in 2021.
