The largest proportion of the trip expenses went for food and beverage, approximately 674 New Taiwan dollars, followed by transportation expenditure. Around 71 percent of all domestic trips in Taiwan in 2023 were short one-day trips, therefore, the average spending on accommodation amounted to lonly aroun 504 New Taiwan dollars per trip. Accommodation costs were the highest among all categories when only overnight trips were considered.
