According to the results of study in the United States in 2021, chronic pain sufferers reported lower pain interference on such things as their activity levels, mood, and sleep after an immersive virtual reality program. At the start of the eight-week program, the average rating of pain interfering with daily activities was 4.8, and by the end the rating dropped to 2.7.
