The number of scripted TV seasons produced and released in the U.S. declined to 481 in 2023, partly due to the actors' and writers' strikes and partly due to plunging content spending. At the same time, 418 seasons have been ordered that year, while this number amounted to over 600 each in 2021 and 2022.
