In 2021, over 55 percent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were employed nationally in Australia, representing an increase from 2016. Employment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people was highest in the Australian Capital Territory, with 73 percent of Indigenous Australians employed in the nation's capital territory.
