From 2020 to 2022, Madagascar had the highest prevalence of undernourishment in East Africa, at 51 percent of the total population. Somalia and Zimbabwe followed, with a share of 48.7 and 38.4, respectively. On the other hand, the Seychelles achieved the lowest undernourishment in the region, with 4.3 percent. However, compared to the previous period between 2004 and 2006, more than half the countries in the region saw a decrease in malnourishment.
