As of 2022, UK respondents who felt that climate change had an impact on their everyday life were more likely to consider buying an electric vehicle than a petrol or diesel vehicle. In contrast, 31 percent of participants seeing no impact from climate change on their daily lives reported intentions to buy a petrol or diesel vehicle for their next passenger car purchase.

The question "Do you feel that climate change has an impact on your everyday life?" was used to separate respondents in two groups: 648 respondents felt climate change has an impact on every day life and 352 felt climate change had no impact on everyday life. Answers to the survey question were "Yes, very much so", "Yes, somewhat", "No, not really", and "No, not at all".
