According to a survey about the organic industry in Australia conducted in December 2021, 89 percent of organic operators surveyed defined organic as environmental maintenance and enhancement without the use of artificial fertilizers or synthetic chemicals. Around 36 percent of respondents described it as conservation of energy, soil, and water.
