As of July 2024, the United Kingdom counted nearly 12,470 rapid charging points with at least one connector providing a power of 50 kilowatts or above. While the volume of available public rapid chargers has increased in the previous quarters, it still remained the least common charging type in the UK, representing less than a quarter of the total available public charging points at the beginning of the third quarter of 2024.

Rapid charging refers to charging points which have a fastest connector at 50 kilowatt or above. A charging point can have more than one connector, all at varying speeds.
