Bank of France secured the second position, with total assets worth roughly 1.9 trillion euros. Following were the Bank of Italy and the Bank of England, with 1.47 trillion and 1.22 trillion euros on their balance sheets, respectively. On a global scale, only the Deutsche Bundesbank ranked among the five largest central banks, with the Federal Reserve System reporting the largest assets in 2022.
