Apple Pay acceptance by e-commerce vendors in 20 countries between 2022 and 2024

Predictions were that nine out of 10 e-commerce vendors in India would offer Apple Pay on their website come 2024. This is according to a survey held in early 2022, asking e-commerce professionals on which payment method they are already offering and which ones they hope to either add or not add in the future. By January 2024, however, India did not feature in the survey, and it was the Netherlands that had the highest share of vendors that accepted Apple Pay. Noticeable are both the different starting positions and the future intent of Apple Pay implementation. English-speaking countries - especially the United States - tend to already accept Apple Pay in 2022. Brazil was a focus country for both Apple and Google, as it is the largest market in Latin America. Within Europe - except for the UK - the acceptance of Apple Pay is higher in Italy and the Netherlands than in France and, especially, Germany.
